What Should You Expect When You Stay at a Bed and Breakfast

Are you planning a getaway? Well, before you begin to eagerly start researching the most popular hotels in the town, consider booking your next stay at a bed and breakfast! When you book a room at a B&B, you get to stay at the home of someone who knows the area the best, and they’re willing to share all of the information you want to know with you. Not to mention, B&B’s are often a lot more private than a hotel room.

If you’re not sure what to expect when you stay at a bed and breakfast, allow us to help!

You Get Fresh Breakfast Every Morning

One of the best parts of a bed and breakfast is that each morning a fresh, delicious breakfast will be prepared for you! Often it includes an assortment of fresh foods and hot entrees for you to choose from. At Island House Bed and Breakfast, we serve a delicious southern-style buffet breakfast served daily in our dining room. Our breakfast includes fresh fruits, yogurts, assorted juices, and tea & coffee.

Plus, we will serve hot entrees like:

  • Pancakes
  • Waffles
  • French Toast
  • Various Egg Recipes
  • Hot Fruit Compote
  • Sausage Gravy
  • Southern Style Grits
  • Bacon, Sausage Links, or Ham!

Wifi and TV Will Be Available

Just like most hotels, your B&B will also include WIFI and cable for their guests. At Island House B&B, we offer these amenities free for our guests, but, always make sure to ask if these are included when you stay elsewhere outside of the Outer Banks.

Private Bath

Believe it or not, many people are apprehensive about staying at B&B’s because they think that they will have to share common areas with other guests staying in the home. For most bed and breakfast’s each guest will have their own private bath. Although some baths may be different than others, you typically won’t need to worry about sharing these areas with other guests.

Affordability

Most importantly, when you stay at a B&B, you can expect to pay less than you would at a hotel. Because B&B’s are housing fewer people, they don’t need the same staff or other additional amenities that a hotel needs, so they can charge a more affordable cost!
